What was I thinking?

Hi all -  My final category for my UFO's are the 'what was I thinking' quilts...really...what. was. I. thinking.

Caution: the wavy striped fabric in the following quilt may cause nausea, dizziness or hysterical fits of laughter.  You have been warned. ;-)

Cheers,
Mary

Oh yes, this was going to be a bento box quilt.  I even took a class and was oh so excited.  Then I made a block, or two, or ten and wondered why nobody had stopped me!!!  Will be rippin' this sucker apart at some point.

The requisite watercolour quilts x 2.  Why, you ask?  I don't know.  I really don't know.

Made these squares in 2010 and well, this looks ok, right?  I mean they aren't too bad...

Sadly, this was the end result...again, what was I thinking?  I had to take this one apart last year, I just couldn't stand it any longer!  Lesson learned - just because the fabric is all from the same line, doesn't mean they have to be put together in the same quilt!  :-)

  1. oh my, some of the projects and blocks look quite fine by me, perhaps you might consider them as charity quilts? There is always Quilts of Valour either US or Canada, or perhaps a local Womens Shelter -- is a great way to get these projects off your back and still feel good about them...

  2. Sometimes we all need to do the "frog stitch".
