PIF winners & new fabric

Hello everyone!  Thanks to all who left comments yesterday about my adventure at the archery centre.  I'm happy to report we all had a blast and no one was injured!  Yoohoo!  The guys who work there were gracious, helpful and very encouraging. 

I'd like to thank all those who entered my Pay It Forward event, greatly appreciated.  The names were entered into brown paper bags and the following three names were selected:  Joyce from Cambridge (no blog); Gina at http://gina-catswhiskers.blogspot.com/ and Tracee at http://farmgatecreations.blogspot.com/.  Congratulations to you all! 

I picked up some fabric last Friday for a new project.  My sister requested a quilt with the following colours - chocolate brown, sage green and pink. 



Here's what I picked up at my LQS.  The top fabric is actually a dark green and the stripe near the bottom is a sage green.



I then went through my own fabric and added a few more items to round out the selection, but I'm not really happy with that pink fabric...it's just too much I think.



Much better now that the pink is gone.  I'm aiming for a muted look for this quilt.

Here's a closer look at some of the fabric.  There's still pink in the quilt, but it's subtle, which I like.  I hope to get a block or two done to show you tomorrow.
